Where to stay at Plitvice Lakes
You have two kinds of base. One is Hotel Jezero inside the park, in the central area near Entrance 2, above Kozjak lake. The other is a village or town outside, such as Rastovača, Mukinje, Korenica or Slunj. Staying near the lakes saves driving, and it makes a second day easy.
A two-day ticket suits an overnight stay, because it is valid on two consecutive days. See the current prices on the Plitvice Lakes tickets page. If you only have one day, a trip from Zagreb or Split is the alternative.

Park hotel or village: the options compared
Pick the base that fits your entrance.
| Base | Where | Good for | Keep in mind |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hotel Jezero | Central park area, near Entrance 2, above Kozjak lake | Starting from the south, a stay inside the park | The only park hotel available in the cold season |
| Rastovača | Village at the north main entrance, Entrance 1 | Programs A, B, C and K1 from the north | Distances differ from house to house |
| Mukinje | Village with a ski area, which lies about 2.5 km from Entrance 2 | Programs E, F, H and K2 from the south, winter stays | The 2.5 km is the ski area, not every house |
| Korenica | Town in the regional tourism area | A town base with local tourism services | Not directly at the lakes, so you need a car or bus |
| Slunj and Rastoke | Around 32 km from the lakes | A base with the Rastoke watermills nearby | You need a car or bus to reach the lakes |
For most visitors with a car who stay two days, a base close to the entrance of their first route is the simplest choice. Hotel Jezero fits the south, Rastovača the north.

Hotel Jezero inside the park
Hotel Jezero stands in the central park area near Entrance 2, above Kozjak lake. In the cold season it is the only hotel accommodation available in the park.
Ask the hotel what your room rate includes, for example park entry or parking, before you book. Offers change from season to season, so do not assume that entry is part of the rate.

Hotels under renovation
Two other park hotels are not a safe bet for 2026.
Hotel Plitvice
This hotel was closed for renovation in 2025. Check the current status before you build a trip around it.
Hotel Bellevue and Hotel Plitvice
Both are part of a renovation programme with completion planned for 2027. That is a plan, not a booking guarantee. Check before you rely on either hotel.
Villages and towns near the lakes
What each place offers.
Rastovača
The village at the north main entrance, which gives Entrance 1 its name. It is the natural base for programs that start in the north. Do not assume a walking time for every house, because they sit at different distances.
Entrance 1 or 2 →Mukinje
A village with a ski area. The ski area is about 2.5 km from Entrance 2. Whether the lift runs depends on natural snow, so winter plans should stay flexible.
Plitvice in winter →Korenica
A town in the regional tourism area, where the local tourism organisation provides information and services. It is not a place on the lake shore, so plan transport to the entrances.
Slunj and Rastoke
Slunj lies around 32 km from the lakes. Rastoke, its watermill quarter, is a stop on the way and is described on its own page.
Rastoke →Planning an overnight stay
Practical points that save time.
Two-day ticket
It needs a name and is valid on two consecutive days. An adult pays €15 in January to March and November and December, €39 in April, May and October, and €60 from June to September (2026).
Parking
Parking at the entrances is charged per hour for cars, at €1.50 per hour in March to May and October to November and €2 in June to September (2026).
Bus
Bus stops stand near both main entrances, for the directions of Zagreb and Zadar. Not every operator serves both stops, so check the stop on your ticket.
Getting there →No camping
Camping inside the park is not allowed. Stay in a hotel, village or town outside the park area.
